The use of RFID technology - identification, tracking, visibility, data reading - is steadily expanding and offers a significant increase in the efficiency of controls over people, goods and vehicles, optimizing management costs and improving security conditions.
Compared with passive technology, RFID active technology uses TAGs equipped with battery power supplies and offers clear advantages in terms of the minor number of transmission errors, long distance coverage, complete sessions between TAG and Reader Controller, and the possibility to implement remote control networks.

The ZOMOFI® solution is positioned at the high-end of RTLS Real Time Locating Systems with active RFID, and is comprised of highly developed TAGs (multi-functional and sensorial), Controllers and Z-Edgeware integrated platforms, which can interface all the Business Applications on the GUI Graphical Unit Interface requested by the Customer.
The transmission and the control of reading and writing data can be over a cabled or WiFi LAN network or remotely via Internet VPN.
The RF connection between TAG and Controller with continual updates every few seconds, is over the free band ISM 2,45 GHz with low electromagnetic radiation 1000 times lower than a mobile phone.
The ZOMOFI® TAGs are extremely compact and offer a unique battery lifetime (from 3 to 10 years depending on usage). They are equipped with a unique ID, data reading and writing via radio, a 112 byte memory, and long distance coverage of 160 mt outdoor – 80 mt indoor.
The TAGs are available in a variety of versions : Read-Only, Signal Tag, Multi-Function Tag with remote activation and deactivation. They can also be equipped with specific sensors : Motion Detection Tag, Temperature Sensor Tag (- 40 / + 125 °C) and Humidity Tag (0 / 100%).
ZOMOFI® also offers Train Tracer Tags, which can be integrated into railway wagons and offer the same functions as a Multi-function Tag for the monitoring, tracing and controlling of carriages and wagons at high-speed (160 Km/h).
The ZOMOFI® Controllers are built around innovative low power CMOS integrated circuits. They can be connected over LAN in a wide range of topologies, with serial data interface RS232 / RS485 or RS232 / RS485 + Ethernet + WiFi, and can be equipped with GPS and GSM/GPRS connections.
The Controller uses a sophisticated anti-interference, anti-collision system which allows it to manage from 80 to 100 TAGs per second, and offers total management capacity of 1000 TAGs simultaneously present in the range of one single Controller.
Both ZOMOFI® TAG and Controller come in protected, resistant versions IP65 – 66 – 67 for use in extreme industrial conditions with gas and dust particles as per the ATEX EX directive.
The Edgeware software offers a variety of integration and management functions for the TAG data collected or distributed by the Controller.
Its main functions are data filtering, data requests, operative instructions, message distribution and transmission management.
The application is based on SOA architecture with SOAP protocols for Web Services which can be integrated into any Business Application.
ZOMOFI® can be integrated in existing IT Enterprise environments via the usual transmission techniques, routing, switching and bridging.
Albis Technologies can also develop TAGs with specific functionalities tailor-made to suit customers requirements.
